Samsung’s Latest Foldable Smartphone Named “Galaxy Fold”

There had been lot of rumours and speculations regarding the name of Samsung’s leaked foldable smartphone. Samsung has apparently settled on with the name of the foldable phone that they’ll show off today alongside the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+. Its neither the Galaxy X nor the Galaxy F, its Galaxy Fold, a device essentially representing an entirely new category for Samsung. The Galaxy Fold will be Samsung’s first foldable phone that can turn into a tablet and a smaller screen as well.

With multiple hints, Samsung teased its audience revealing a foldable smartphone in a video. Popular leakster Evan Blass confirmed that this foldable Samsung phone will be officially called Galaxy Fold. It will be the company’s first foldable phone is expected to make an official appearance at the Galaxy S10 launch event, which is taking place in San Francisco later tonight.

Tech Specs. – Samsung Galaxy Fold

Rumours claims that the Galaxy Fold is expected to come with Snapdragon 855 SoC paired with 8 GB RAM. It will feature two displays – one that measures 4.58-inch and the other that measures 7.3-inch. The smaller display will have an aspect ratio of 21:9 and a resolution of 1960 x 840 pixels. It will sit on the outer cover of the phone. On the other hand, the larger display will be foldable and have a resolution of 2152 x 1536 pixels with an aspect ratio of 4.2:3. It will run on Android Pie with One UI layered on top and is rumored to cost a small fortune.

Seems like we have a name now regarding the most rumoured Samsung’s foldable smartphone. The device will run three apps simultaneously through a feature called ‘Multi-Active Window’. Donning a continuity feature, Galaxy fold will allow apps running on the outer screen or ‘cover screen’ to expand onto the 7.3-inch display. It is also rumoured that Galaxy Fold will come with two batteries, with a total battery capacity between 5,000 to 6,000 mAh. It will have 8 GB of RAM and a 128 GB internal storage. On the camera front, we can expect a 12 MP + 12 MP dual camera and an 8 MP front camera. The average retail price of the phone is expected to be $ 1,700.
