Unveiled globally on Tuesday, the OnePlus 6T McLaren edition is launched in India today to celebrate its fifth anniversary. Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus, and high-performance sportscars and supercars maker McLaren luxury, launched ‘OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition’. As per a statement from the company, the new device marks the start of a long-term partnership, celebrating a shared passion for speed, and the two brand’s similar philosophies – to “Never Settle” and to move “Fearlessly Forward.”
OnePlus CEO Pete Lau said, “The OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition is stunning. Engineered with exact precision and new technology we’ve never used before, it’s our fastest, most cutting-edge device ever – the epitome of craftsmanship. It’s the start of an exciting partnership with McLaren, giving people a feeling of incredible speed and performance.”
The biggest highlights of the smartphone are its 10GB of RAM, and the company’s new fast charging tech – Warp Charge 30. The OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition also features a carbon fibre pattern below the glass on the rear panel, and the signature McLaren Papaya Orange colour placed on the bottom of the smartphone. There is more McLaren stuff in the box as well. The OnePlus 6T McLaren edition is a combination of speed, technology, and OnePlus and McLaren have introduced intricate design with a powerful and versatile experience.
Pros & Cons
Big, vibrant screen
All-day battery life
Excellent, up-to-date software
Disappointing low-light camera quality
Awkward and slow fingerprint sensor
No IP rating, wireless charging, or 3.5mm jack
The more screen you have, the more you can do with your phone. From games and movies to apps and web pages, every experience is immersive thanks to its edge-to-edge Optic AMOLED display. Hidden under the display, you will find its new in-screen fingerprint sensor. The OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition unlocks the moment your finger lands on the display for a seamless and intuitive unlock experience that takes just 0.36 seconds. Thanks to the new in-display fingerprint sensor, the OnePlus 6T’s design is truly unified and even. Subtle curves create a sense of flow that mesmerizes every time you look at or hold it.
The McLaren Edition is powered by Snapdragon 845 processor and a 6.4-inch AMOLED screen, same as the one we get in the regular OnePlus 6T. Take your game to the next level with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform. With smooth software and powerful hardware working together, the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition is playing for the win. We hope you are too.
The McLaren edition has two cameras on the back. One is the 16-megapixel sensor and another 20-megapixel sensor. On the front, there is a 16-megapixel selfie camera.
