Google Assistant Now Integrated into Text Messages
Google is now planning to find new places in your Android smartphone by making its Google Assistant available for your conversations. One can use Google Assistant button which might appear in the smart replies section of the app. If you tap it, it will ask the Assistant a question and give you an option to put the answer directly into your text message thread. However, this feature is limited to English only. Users will soon find their Messages app will offer possible responses to text messages in an attempt to make texting a more seamless and convenient experience.
If you are an android user you will be the one who gets the firsthand enhancement of Google Assistant. This enhancement will inject Google Assistant into your conversations where no “Hey Google” command will be required. For instance, if you you and a friend are chatting about a movie, the assistant could suggest a card with showtimes. The same goes with weather conditions, location info, and other details you may normally rely on a Google search for. Through this enhancement, users can send texts, share pictures and audio messages, and even search through conversations for particular content.
Google says your messages aren’t being read while it does so: “Information isn’t sent to the Google Assistant until you tap on the Assistant suggestion chips”.
With the Google enhancement, Messages app will offer possible responses to text messages in an attempt to make texting a more seamless and convenient experience. Users need not worry about data leak or share of personal messages because the only information that’s sent to Google’s servers is the text of the Google Assistant button you tap.
