BlackBerry KEY2 | Icon Reborn | Red Edition
Offering twice the storage than the original edition, BlackBerry Key2 is launched in its Red Edition. Along with its new color, the phone also comes with 128GB of onboard storage, up from the 64GB in the original. It is said have the most intelligent keyboard ever, and a battery that lasts up to 2 days, all on the new BlackBerry KEY2, powered by Android. Deliberately crafted for doing more on the go, the BlackBerry KEY2 offers a thinner and lighter design,
without sacrificing durability. Featuring the all-new Speed Key that makes it possible to activate shortcuts to apps and initiate actions from anywhere without returning to the homescreen or swiping endlessly.
BlackBerry KEY2 will also launch with a Hub+ software refresh which includes a new Action bar added to the bottom of the Hub+ applications, which the company touts will offer improved ergonomics by giving users quick access to primary features like search, sort, and compose. Disappointingly it kept the same software, and will launch with last year’s Android 8.1 Oreo.

The red edition of BlackBerry Key2 comes with a 4.5-inches LCD display with a resolution of 1080 x 1620 pixels and an aspect ratio of 3:2. It weighs 156 grams and features the classic BlackBerry keyboard of yesteryear with a touch-sensitive top or easier navigation.
BlackBerry Key2 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC and comes with 6 GB RAM as standard. The phone also features what BlackBerry likes to call “Speed Key”, a universal shortcut key that makes it possible to instantly access apps, contacts and functions. The red Key2 also features last year’s Android 8.1 Oreo Operating System which is quite disappointing. For optics, the phone features a 12 + 12 MP dual rear camera system with 2x optical zoom, an 8 MP front camera for selfies. The unit is powered by a 3,500 mAh battery with QuickCharge 3.0 support.

Although there is no confirmation of its release date as of now, it will be available in selected markets across North America, Europe, Middle East and Asia starting at EUR 779 (approx Rs. 63,000), and will also include a special edition set of red BlackBerry-branded earbuds. It is available for pre-order across Europe on the official BlackBerry Mobile online store.
