Aquaman 2018, the Half-Human Half-Atlantean’s Origin
Aquaman is a 2018 American superhero film based on the DC Comics character of the same name, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. It is the sixth installment in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). From Warner Bros. Pictures and director James Wan comes an action-packed adventure that spans the vast, virtually breathtaking underwater world of the seven seas, “Aquaman,” starring Jason Momoa in the title role. It is the third live-action theatrical film featuring the title character, following Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) and Justice League (2017) and the first full-length feature film centered around the character.
The film reveals the origin story of half-human, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry and takes him on the journey of his lifetime – one that will not only force him to face who he really is, but to discover if he is worthy of who he was born to be…a King.
Arthur Curry, the reluctant ruler of Atlantis and King of the Seven Seas, finds himself caught between a surface world constantly ravaging the sea and Atlanteans looking to lash out in revolt, but committed to protecting the entire globe. Arthur Curry learns that he is the heir to the underwater kingdom of Atlantis, and must step forward to lead his people and be a hero to the world.
